Dataphone was proud to sponsor the Education Business Awards in London last week, hosted by Headteacher Stephen Drew. It was truly inspirational to be surrounded by staff from so many innovative and forward thinking schools, and to hear some of the stories behind their success.
The ICT Facility Award
The school was also commended in School Buildings, Educational Visits and ICT Innovation for their new arts centre, cross-curricular trips and their use of technology across the school campus.
On receiving the award, Head of College Rob Jones said: “The ICT and Computing department here at Rendcomb is forward-thinking, creative and innovative so receiving this award is a true testament to the hard work my colleagues dedicate to the success of the department day in, day out.”
Improvement in STEM provision
Rendcomb College has dramatically improved it’s provision of STEM subjects over the past five years, and pupil engagement with technology-enhanced learning is at an all-time high. We were particularly impressed by the College’s Digital Leaders Scheme, where the pupils have become the teachers, coaching their peers and staff in better use of technology.
Other schools commended in this category were Rotherithe Primary School, London, Blenheim Primary, Wales, All Saints Church Primary, Wales and The Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Surrey.
Congratulations to all the schools involved in this prestigious event – we look forward to hearing about your next triumphs in 2018!
Has a pupil or teacher in your school achieved something outstanding?
Dataphone values the work of schools and teachers across the school and we want to help you celebrate your successes.
The Dataphone Achievement Award for Schools is an annual award of £500 for a pupil or teacher to spend on improving teaching and learning in their school. It acknowledges specific achievements that demonstrate high aspirations and hard work.
All of Dataphone’s schools will be invited to nominate a teacher or pupil – but all schools are welcome to enter.
